JetBlue has officially launched its new service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Presque Isle International Airport (PQI), with the inaugural flight landing in Presque Isle today. This daily service offers added convenience for travelers in Northern Maine and New Brunswick, providing easy access to Boston and beyond.

“We’re excited to bring the much-anticipated Boston flights back to Presque Isle and its surrounding communities,” said Dave Jehn, vice president of network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue. “This new service reflects our commitment to offering customers throughout New England top-quality service to their preferred destinations. We are thankful to the U.S. Department of Transportation for selecting JetBlue for this Essential Air Service route.”

“Maine’s regional airports are vital in connecting Maine residents, businesses, and communities to the same services and destinations as larger population centers,” said Senator Angus King. “As the gateway to Northern Maine, Presque Isle boasts a rich culture and thriving industry. Essential Air Service flights to and from Presque Isle International Airport will provide locals with access to global destinations, whether for necessary travel or personal choice.”

“Maine’s reputation is defined by its small towns and natural beauty, many of which are hours from the nearest air travel hub,” said Congressman Jared Golden. “That’s why the Essential Air Service program is so crucial for our rural communities. Service at Presque Isle International Airport offers more convenient air travel for my constituents and brings visitors closer to Baxter State Park, the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, the historic communities in the Saint John Valley, and much more.”

“We are thrilled to welcome JetBlue to our city and continue receiving thoughtful, reliable service from such a well-regarded airline,” said Tyler Brown, Presque Isle City Manager.

“We look forward to this partnership with JetBlue’s daily service to Boston and the opportunities it will bring to The County,” said Ryan D. Pelletier, Aroostook County Administrator. “Commercial air service is vital to economic development and sustainability in rural areas like ours.”

Presque Isle, a key hub in Aroostook County, serves as a center for business, healthcare, education, and air transportation. Its scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, and welcoming atmosphere attract thousands of visitors each year. With JetBlue’s affordable fares and award-winning service, Presque Isle becomes the airline’s newest New England destination. By winter, JetBlue will serve 10 locations across the region.

JetBlue will initially operate the route with the 100-seat Embraer E190 jet, transitioning to the 140-seat Airbus A220 in 2025. Both aircraft feature JetBlue’s signature amenities, including the most legroom in coach, fast and free Fly-Fi broadband, complimentary snacks and beverages, and seatback entertainment for every passenger.

Expanding Connections

These new flights give travelers from Northern Maine easy access to Boston and over 50 destinations across the Americas and Europe via JetBlue’s direct connections. Customers can also benefit from seamless single-ticket connections with JetBlue’s partner airlines, expanding their global travel options.

JetBlue has introduced a new daily service connecting Boston to Presque Isle, which is expected to significantly boost Maine to Logan Airport transportation. This new route offers travelers a convenient and efficient option for flying between northern Maine and Boston, enhancing connectivity for both leisure and business passengers. With this service, demand for ground transportation options such as airport shuttles and ride-sharing services between Maine and Logan Airport is likely to increase, providing more convenience for travelers.

JetBlue’s Commitment to New England

As part of its JetForward strategic plan, JetBlue continues to expand its footprint in the Northeast. With the addition of Presque Isle, JetBlue now serves nine airports in New England, and the upcoming launch of service to Manchester, New Hampshire in January will bring the total to 10 destinations.

This winter, JetBlue will increase capacity in New England by 20%, including a 10% seat growth at its Boston Logan hub. Already the leading leisure carrier in Boston, JetBlue dominates with flights to California, Florida, and the Caribbean. The winter expansion includes new service from Portland, Maine to Orlando, along with additional Mint® premium flights from Boston to popular leisure destinations.
