massachusetts city

MoneyGeek recently performed a country-wide study for ranking some of the safest places in the USA. The study published a list of the top 15 towns which are considered to be safest in the US. Out of these 15 Massachusetts has 4 towns included, which is most for any state.

Both the safest and least safe small communities and towns in each of the 50 states were determined by Moneygeek with an analysis of crime statistics and cost estimates for such offenses as data provided by states.

According to Moneygeek, the Northeast or Midwest is home to the majority of America’s safest small towns and cities. The safest community in Massachusetts and the third safest in the nation is Andover. North Andover, Arlington, and Needham also made the top 15.

On being asked, Cindy Miller who was using our taxi cab services said she was surprised Andover even made it to the list. Claiming to be an old resident in the town she stated that Andover used to be a lot safer but perhaps nowhere is much safer in the country anymore.

Another customer who was traveling to Logan Airport from Newton MA counted recent road accidents and today’s news of a family Murder-Suicide case from North Andover to question the standard of safest in Massachusetts.

Moneygeek’s overall ranking goes as follows:

  • Yorktown Town, New York
  • Mason, Ohio,
  • Andover Massachusetts
  • Southlake, Texas
  • Arlington, Massachusetts,
  • Princeton, New Jersey
  • Hampden Township, Pennsylvania
  • Carmel Town, New York
  • Needham, Massachusetts
  • Greenwich, Connecticut
  • Westfield, New Jersey
  • Rexburg, Indiana
  • Sammamish, Washington
  • North Andover, Massachusetts’
  • White Lake Township,  Michigan

Moneygeek states that the places that are the least safe are spread out, with Pine Bluff, Arkansas, at the top of the list.
