TOWN OF BOSTON, N.Y. –A fatal accident occurred in the Town of Boston and state police are investigating it.

At around 5:00 p.m., the accident happened near Chestnut Ridge Road when two vehicles, a 2008 Ford Explorer travelling north on Boston State Road and a 2007 Toyota Prius travelling south on the same road collided.

The driver of one of the vehicles, identified as 63year-old Peachy J. Schrockk from Derby, NY, was pronounced dead at Mercy Ambulatory Care in Orchard Park.

The other driver was a 19-year-old who had minor injuries and was taken to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC).

The reason behind the crash has not been identified yet and it is said that it was because of bad weather.

Police officials are on the scene and Boston State Road was closed temporarily between Chestnut Ridge Road and Omphalius Road. An accident reconstruction team is helping the officials determine the real cause behind the fatal accident. At around 8:54 p.m. Sunday, the road was reopened as per the Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition (NITTEC).
